Silvio Dobrovot, President of Hometelligent Inc., transformed this dramatic hillside property in Orinda, California into the ultimate backyard retreat. Featuring three separate dwellings, each renovated to modern standards with a contemporary design aesthetic. Darker paint colors on the dwellings contrasts beautifully with Humboldt Sawmill redwood timber arbors, fencing, and bridges, which cross over a stream that runs through the property. Durable Allweather Wood pressure treated lumber was used for retaining walls at the top of the property to create an expansive patio area. Dolan Lumber supplied all the wood on the project. Silvio prefers working with wood and particularly redwood. “Wood is malleable, you can cut it to size, to shape. Using redwood and pressure treated gave us the flexibility that we wouldn’t have if we were to do concrete retaining walls.”
